Select Festival Review

Editorial policy

Select Festival Review aims to make festival culture interesting without making claims that outrun what a piece can support. We write for curious general readers and make our reasoning visible.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual statements against suitable sources before publication, distinguish explanation from opinion and use careful wording where an account is incomplete or contested. We do not invent quotations, people, events or evidence. If a detail cannot be confirmed, we leave it out or make the uncertainty clear.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for relevance to readers, not to satisfy a partner or promote a particular event. A collaboration does not guarantee favourable coverage, and commercial arrangements do not determine editorial conclusions.

Corrections

If a published piece contains an error, readers can contact us through the Contact page with the article title and the detail in question. We review correction requests and make appropriate changes clearly; significant corrections are noted in the affected piece.

Partnerships and illustrations

Paid partner placements and sponsored material are labelled clearly where they appear. Such material is kept distinct from independent editorial articles. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when they are, we identify them as such rather than presenting them as documentary photographs.

Our point of view

A festival is made of more than its acts

The programme matters, but so do the paths between events, the objects people carry and the customs that bring strangers into a shared moment.
